Nepal Re-Insurance Company donates Rs 10 million for reconstruction of Dharahara

Dharahara-PunarnirmanKathmandu, July 12
Nepal Re-Insurance Company has donated Rs 10 million for Nepal government’s Dharahara reconstruction campaign. A team of company officials handed over the cheque bearing the sum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday.
At its meeting held a week ago in Kathmandu, the company had decided to donate the sum for the government campaign ‘I will build Dharahar on my own’.
While receiving the cheque, PM Oli said there’s a need to make Nepali people feel that Dharahara belongs to one and all.
The donation comes at a time when the government has drawn fire both in the Parliament and outside for a tardy pace of post-quake reconstruction work. More than a year into the Gorkha Earthquake, most of the quake victims are still living in temporary shelters, raising questions about the efficacy of the National Reconstruction Authority.
