4.5R in San Fransisko Bay Area

On Monday at 10.33pm local time, an earthquake was felt in the San Francisco Bay Area. The epicentre was located in the Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek areas, with many residents reporting shaking.
These tremors according to the Los Angeles Times were strong enough to knock over unsecured items like picture frames or books and was capable of breaking dishes or windows.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) was also weak shaking across San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland.
KTVU-TV reported residents had seen books and other belongings knocked from shelves, cracks being created in walls and one instance a chandelier falling.
In Walnut Creek, the shaking was violent enough to knock CDs from a shelf.
Assistant Chief Chris Bachman of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said there were no reports of injuries or property damage related to the earthquake as of 11pm local time.
Following this earthquake, one seismologist has warned this could be a precursor to a larger earthquake.
Seismologist Lucy Jones said on Twitter: “Because any quake can be a foreshock, there’s a slight increase in the chance of a bigger quake for the next few days, at the same location near the Calaveras fault.”
A foreshock is defined as an earthquake which takes place before a larger seismic event and is related to it in time and location.
In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes recorded at a magnitude of 3.0 or higher nearby to Monday’s quake.
California is no stranger to earthquakes, with a three-year data sample revealing an average of 25 quakes measuring between magnitude-4.0 and 5.0 taking place each year in California and Nevada.
California is also located on the explosive Ring of Fire, a horseshoe-shaped area in the Pacific Ocean, where most of the world’s earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.

Furthermore we have run our software and today's stress in the area can be seen here below. One is close to the actual quake is 100km away one degree away.
