Disposal wells near Fairview ordered to reduce operations due to earthquakes

FAIRVIEW, Okla. —Disposal wells near Fairview have been ordered to reduce operations due to earthquake activity in the area.

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission ordered wells three to six miles from the area to reduce injections by 25 percent.

Wells within six to 10 miles of the area have been ordered to cease operations and reduce depth.

Officials said there are only two Arbuckle disposal wells within 10 miles of the earthquake activity.
